Health & Well-Being
Promoting and supporting children's health and well-being is an integral part of what we do at Ellergreen Childcare Centre. We know that children's well-being is a combination of their physical, emotional and social health. Children learn about their bodies and what it needs as well as how to maintain good oral hygiene. Children often listen to stories that promote healthy eating and take part in activities such as fruit and vegetable tasting and making their own healthy snacks. We regularly discuss how exercise and movements effects children's bodies and the need for rest and hydration. At Ellergreen, we love to take part in dance and yoga sessions. This helps us to learn about our breathing. We use the Colour Monster story to support the children to recognise and understand their emotions and feelings.
