  • The Liverpool Immunisation team are attending school on 16th November to deliver the influenza vaccine.

Thu 03 Nov 2022 Mrs Feeney

    Dear Parent/Carer,

The Liverpool Immunisation team are attending school on 16th November to deliver the influenza vaccine. Offering the nasal spray and also the injectable for those who can’t receive the live nasal spray due to porcine gelatine.

Paper consent forms will be available from school

This vaccination is recommended to help protect your child against flu.

Flu can be an unpleasant illness and sometimes causes serious complications. Vaccinating your child will also help to protect more vulnerable family and friends by preventing the spread of flu.

The vaccination is a quick and simple spray up the nose – it’s also free! Even if your child had it last year, we still recommend that they have the flu vaccine again this year.

Please see link below for a child friendly video on flu. You and your child may find it beneficial to watch prior to them being immunised.

ALDER HEY’S LAUNCHES NEW SYMPTOM CHECKER’ FOR CHILDREN

Launching today, clinicians at Alder Hey have developed a new ‘Symptom Checker to help parents and carers understand their poorly child’s symptoms and what they can do for them.

The fast, easy to use and reliable online Symptom Checker offers parents and carers information on several of the most common symptoms in children requiring urgent care. Using the Symptom Checker will help parents and carers decide where best to get the right care for their child, be it at home, at their local chemist, walk-in centre or GP, or with a trip to Alder Hey’s Emergency Department.

Developed by the doctors and nurses at Alder Hey working alongside the Trust’s Digital team, the Symptom Checker will help guide parent and carers with what they can do at a time that can be understandably stressful.
