School Uniform

Parents can choose whether their child wears a uniform or their own everyday clothes to Ellergreen Nursery School.

School sweatshirts can be purchased from the school office for £7 each.

If you choose for your child to not wear a uniform, they need suitable clothing for school such as a warm tracksuit for winter and shorts and t shirt in the summer. Children play outside in all weathers so please ensure they have a suitable coat and footwear.

If you choose for your child to wear a school uniform:

School Uniform (ideas)

• Ellergreen Sweatshirt
• Polo shirt or T shirt
• Grey or black skirt / pinafore / trousers / shorts (in the summer)
• Checked dress (summer)

Footwear

• Trainers with a Velcro fastening/ shoes with a Velcro fastening (NO LACES)
• Wellington boots to be left in school

Children will engage in lots of messy play activities. This is all part of their Early Years learning journey and they will occasionally go home very messy.

Please can you provide a full set of spare clothes so we can change your child if needed. Please label your child’s clothing including shoes and wellies to avoid confusion and upset when property is lost. These clothes will be transferred into a pump bag on your child’s coat peg. You will be informed if you need to send in extra clothes for their pump bag.

Jewellery: Children should not wear jewellery in nursery. Nursery staff will remove any jewellery worn by children and return to parent/carers at the end of the day in a named envelope.  If earrings have to be worn in school, they must be studs.
